Kelly-119

So my handle at the county library is Kelly-119 and this is vaguely similar to COVID-19. I rent movies there, and as a minor national celebrity (one among thousands) I see the pandemic era as slowly dying over the course of 2021. The vaccine for the latest disease was fielded in December of the year before, last Christmas, and it is collected, it is postmodern; and I am a local celebrity in the greater Denver area. A scenester. A savant. A polymath. A fashion victim. Coughing and coughing with an upper respiratory system infection that will go away if we just wish it so. People dying on US soil, all right after the President got impeached, like it’s relational, like it makes us think about something else, something the elites find respectable. I remember a science fiction movie in 1995, starring Dustin Hoffman (who may have retired?) and a wild pandemic virus and the suited-up emergency workers on board that helicopter bound for a bug-killing zone. A bug-killing zone, and I think that movie has come true, and the name of the that film is Outbreak, a medical disaster piece. Why mention celebrity? “Do you have anything to add to this, Kelly?” said Sam Russell in 1990.

Mr. Kelly Roger Lemieux lives and writes in Colorado.
